First Impact Factor for JMIR mHealth: From zero to a stunning 4.636

(Toronto, Jun 15th, 2017, updated Sept 26, 2017) Clarivate (formerly the IP Division of Thomson Reuters) has released its' impact factors for 2016, which reflect how often papers published in 2014-2015 were cited in 2016.

We are proud to announce that JMIR mHealth and uHealth has an inaugural impact factor of 4.636, which is a stunning success and is beyond our own expecations. It is ranked #2 in the medical informatics category, only behind the Journal of Medical Internet Research, which has an unprecedented impact factor of 5.175.

JMIR mHealth has a significantly better impact factor than its competitor journals which include JAMIA, Plos One, BMJ Open, PeerJ etc.

The leading status of JMIR mHealth is also evident from expert surveys. According to a survey among 398 health informatics experts who are asked to rank the top health informatics journals by Dohan et al (The Expert Survey-Based Global Ranking of Management- and Clinical-Centered Health Informatics and IT Journals, Transactions of the International Conference on Health Information Technology Advancement.
