The Reviews Are in: A Qualitative Content Analysis of Consumer Perspectives on Apps for Bipolar Disorder

Detailed methods of app selection and assessment are outlined in Nicholas et al [7]; in brief, apps were identified by a search of the Google Play and Apple app stores using the following bipolar related search terms: bipolar, bipolar, “manic depression,” “mood swings,” “mania” and “mood,” cyclothymia, and cyclothymic. Apps with descriptions stating they were useful for the disorder, targeted at consumers or carers, and available in English were included in the study.
