Using a Mobile App for Monitoring Post-Operative Quality of Recovery of Patients at Home: A Feasibility Study

Using a Mobile App for Monitoring Post-Operative Quality of Recovery of Patients at Home: A Feasibility Study

Surgical populations differ from previous groups monitored with mobile phone technology but are highly appropriate in that they have a homogenous set of standard indicators of what constitutes quality of recovery, common touch points regarding care professionals and hospitals, and have a limited recovery period [11].

Measuring Daily Compliance With Physical Activity Tracking in Ambulatory Surgery Patients: Comparative Analysis of Five Compliance Criteria

Measuring Daily Compliance With Physical Activity Tracking in Ambulatory Surgery Patients: Comparative Analysis of Five Compliance Criteria

A necessary precursor to determining a patient’s activity level is compliance analysis [9,10]. The principal aim of compliance analysis is to determine whether a patient provided reliable data on any given day, within a defined tracking period. What counts as reliable data is determined by setting a threshold for inclusion and discarding data that do not meet the threshold.

Recruiting Adolescents With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis to Internet-Delivered Therapy: Internal Pilot Within a Randomized Controlled Trial

Recruiting Adolescents With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis to Internet-Delivered Therapy: Internal Pilot Within a Randomized Controlled Trial

This pilot study aimed to assess the feasibility of the remote recruitment of adolescents (and their parents/caregivers) into a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of a UK-adapted version of the Dutch CBT program—FITNET-NHS—compared with a version of usual care—AM (delivered via Skype), and to assess the acceptability of the 2 web-based interventions.

Identifying Patient Populations in Texts Describing Drug Approvals Through Deep Learning–Based Information Extraction: Development of a Natural Language Processing Algorithm

Identifying Patient Populations in Texts Describing Drug Approvals Through Deep Learning–Based Information Extraction: Development of a Natural Language Processing Algorithm

A carefully crafted sequence of rule-based approaches and machine learning algorithms allowed cancer stage identification in Mc Cowen et al’s [7] and Yim et al’s [8] studies. In Nguyen et al’s [9] study, a rule-based algorithm was compared to a machine learning approach based on support vector machine, and performances are found to be equivalent. A recent example is described by Hu et al [10], where fine-tuned BERT models were used to identify 14 different named entities and relations among entities.

Characteristics of Adults Seeking Health Care Provider Support Facilitated by Mobile Technology: Secondary Data Analysis

Characteristics of Adults Seeking Health Care Provider Support Facilitated by Mobile Technology: Secondary Data Analysis

The sociodemographic profile of participants related to health care support seeking from a provider using mobile technology was investigated. Health care support seeking from a provider was defined as Web-based communication with a doctor or other health care provider (included Web-based or combination of Web-based and conventional support) the last time the respondent had a health issue.

Characteristics of Adults’ Use of Facebook and the Potential Impact on Health Behavior: Secondary Data Analysis

Characteristics of Adults’ Use of Facebook and the Potential Impact on Health Behavior: Secondary Data Analysis

Facebook used as a means for patients to communicate with other patients is a trend referred to as peer-to-peer health care [12]. These functions of Facebook are widely recognized; however, peer support is only a small part of the potential of this platform to improve health outcomes. Facebook offers the capability to create groups via the platform referred to as “Facebook Groups.”

Social Media Recruitment Strategies to Recruit Pregnant Women Into a Longitudinal Observational Cohort Study: Usability Study

Social Media Recruitment Strategies to Recruit Pregnant Women Into a Longitudinal Observational Cohort Study: Usability Study

Campaign 0 mentioned the incentive in the caption of the campaign but not in its image. b N/A: not applicable. c The standard advertisement refers to a post that included a title (“Less than 32 weeks pregnant?”), a brief description of the study, our study website, a relevant cartoon, and logos of affiliated institutions. There was no mention of incentives. d The Halloween advertisements compared the size of a baby at different gestational age to the Halloween candy.

Incidence and Characterization of Post-COVID-19 Symptoms in Hospitalized COVID-19 Survivors to Recognize Syndemic Connotations in India: Single-Center Prospective Observational Cohort Study

Incidence and Characterization of Post-COVID-19 Symptoms in Hospitalized COVID-19 Survivors to Recognize Syndemic Connotations in India: Single-Center Prospective Observational Cohort Study

Presentations of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and adults show that COVID-19 negativity is not a hardtop, as there could be postinfectious complications constituting a post-COVID-19 state and its associated health issues [2]. A clear definition of what these health problems are and their magnitude is crucial to prepare an efficient, multidisciplinary service [3].
