Delivering an Online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program to Address Mental Health Challenges Faced by Correctional Workers and Other Public Safety Personnel: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

A survey found that over 98% of CWs have had at least one encounter with job-related traumatic events, frequently involving exposure to serious injury or death; casualties; unusual sights, sounds, and circumstances; first-hand knowledge of the victim(s); and threats to their safety and security [4]. It was also found that CWs, on average, will experience approximately 28 traumatic events during their career [4].
