An App-Based Mindfulness-Based Self-compassion Program to Support Caregivers of People With Dementia: Participatory Feasibility Study

An App-Based Mindfulness-Based Self-compassion Program to Support Caregivers of People With Dementia: Participatory Feasibility Study

BFSC scores were negatively correlated with emotional well-being (r=−0.40; P=.03) and positively correlated with the use of avoidance-based coping (r=0.57; P=.001) and the number of behaviors exhibited by the persons with dementia (r=0.42; P=.02). There were no correlations between BFSC scores and caregiver age (r=−0.17; P=.39), duration of providing care (r=0.30; P=.11); age of persons with dementia (r=0.10; P=.60), emotion-focused coping (r=0.08; P=.70), and problem-focused coping (r=0.07; P=.73).

Defining the Supportive Care Needs and Psychological Morbidity of Patients With Functioning Versus Nonfunctioning Neuroendocrine Tumors: Protocol for a Phase 1 Trial of a Nurse-Led Online and Phone-Based Intervention

Defining the Supportive Care Needs and Psychological Morbidity of Patients With Functioning Versus Nonfunctioning Neuroendocrine Tumors: Protocol for a Phase 1 Trial of a Nurse-Led Online and Phone-Based Intervention

If a nonparametric method is required, data will be imported into R version 3.3.3 (or higher), and the R package pairwise CI will be used for this purpose [53]. Alpha will be set at .05 for all analyses, and all tests will be 2-tailed. Patient interviews will be transcribed and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Specifically, interviews will be coded and categorized into 2 groups representing functioning and nonfunctioning NETs patient responses.

Effects of a Web-Based Intervention for Adults With Chronic Conditions on Patient Activation: Online Randomized Controlled Trial

Effects of a Web-Based Intervention for Adults With Chronic Conditions on Patient Activation: Online Randomized Controlled Trial

Controlling for the pretest patient activation scores, we found a significant difference in posttest patient activation scores between the two groups (F 1,123 = 4.438, P = .04, effect size r = .196). Both groups experienced an average increase in patient activation scores during the study (Table 3), prompting an examination of change scores to determine whether the improvement in the control group may have attenuated the between-group difference at posttest.

Novel Approaches for Estimating Female Sex Worker Population Size in Conflict-Affected South Sudan

Novel Approaches for Estimating Female Sex Worker Population Size in Conflict-Affected South Sudan

The 3-source capture-recapture estimate was calculated using a Bayesian nonparametric latent-class capture-recapture model as implemented in the R package [17]. The study protocol was approved by the Government of South Sudan MOH Research Ethics Committee and CDC's Center for Global Health Associate Director for Science. In Juba, volunteers distributing key chains contacted 1428 FSW across 10 neighborhoods (Figure 1).

Recruiting Sexual and Gender Minority Veterans for Health Disparities Research: Recruitment Protocol of a Web-Based Prospective Cohort Study

Recruiting Sexual and Gender Minority Veterans for Health Disparities Research: Recruitment Protocol of a Web-Based Prospective Cohort Study

All descriptive results were calculated using R (R Foundation for Statistical Computing) [37]. Of the enrolled participants (n=1062), 25.24% (n=268) were recruited from staff Facebook ads, 40.49% (n=430) from community outreach, and 34.27% (n=364) from Trialfacts. Trialfacts proved to be instrumental for the study, providing one-third (364/1062, 34.27%) of the participants despite being initiated 9 months after the recruitment had begun.
