Benchmarking State-of-the-Art Large Language Models for Migraine Patient Education: Performance Comparison of Responses to Common Queries

Benchmarking State-of-the-Art Large Language Models for Migraine Patient Education: Performance Comparison of Responses to Common Queries

Migraine is a highly debilitating primary headache disorder. Long-term education for migraine is essential to help patients, identify triggers, use medications appropriately, and adopt lifestyle changes that can reduce the frequency and severity of attacks [1-3]. Large language models (LLMs), complex artificial intelligence systems trained on extensive data sets to produce human-like text responses, are promising tools for patient education.

Assessment of Smartphone Apps for Common Neurologic Conditions (Headache, Insomnia, and Pain): Cross-sectional Study

Assessment of Smartphone Apps for Common Neurologic Conditions (Headache, Insomnia, and Pain): Cross-sectional Study

This is especially true for common and disabling neurologic conditions such as headache, sleep, and pain disorders [3]. With 1 in every 6 American adults experiencing migraine and severe headache [4], 70 million American adults experiencing sleep problems [5], and 1 in 5 American adults experiencing chronic pain [6], there is a clear need for treatment.

Crowdsourcing Adverse Events Associated With Monoclonal Antibodies Targeting Calcitonin Gene–Related Peptide Signaling for Migraine Prevention: Natural Language Processing Analysis of Social Media

Crowdsourcing Adverse Events Associated With Monoclonal Antibodies Targeting Calcitonin Gene–Related Peptide Signaling for Migraine Prevention: Natural Language Processing Analysis of Social Media

These medications were selected as evidence-based preventive treatments for migraine in accordance with American Headache Society guidelines and because their side effect profiles are well known [16]. Next, we algorithmically compiled all posts containing each drug in separate documents. To use computational linguistics terminology, each document represents a corpus for a medication; each post within that corpus further represents a text.

Enhancing Clinical History Taking Through the Implementation of a Streamlined Electronic Questionnaire System at a Pediatric Headache Clinic: Development and Evaluation Study

Enhancing Clinical History Taking Through the Implementation of a Streamlined Electronic Questionnaire System at a Pediatric Headache Clinic: Development and Evaluation Study

Headache is one of the most common neurological symptoms in children, with a reported prevalence of 54.4% to 58.4% in previous population-based studies [1-4]. Using an appropriate approach in the differential diagnosis of pediatric headache is critical because it can potentially impact children’s quality of life in a significant manner [5,6].

Acceptability, Feasibility, and Cost of Telemedicine for Nonacute Headaches: A Randomized Study Comparing Video and Traditional Consultations

Acceptability, Feasibility, and Cost of Telemedicine for Nonacute Headaches: A Randomized Study Comparing Video and Traditional Consultations

Patients in our study are diagnosed according to the second version of the International Classification of Headache Disorders 2 (ICHD-2) [7]. The most frequent primary headaches are migraines and tension-type headaches, while an important cause of chronic headache is MOHs. These also constitute the majority of nonacute headaches. Northern Norway’s physical geography is extensive with many sparsely populated areas.

Interprofessional Team Training With Virtual Reality: Acceptance, Learning Outcome, and Feasibility Evaluation Study

Interprofessional Team Training With Virtual Reality: Acceptance, Learning Outcome, and Feasibility Evaluation Study

The e-learning part aimed at refreshing the major contents of the simulation (headache with red flags, epileptic seizure, and the handover tool “Introduction, Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation” [ISBAR] [31-33]), which had already been covered by the respective curricula. The on-site part was scheduled for 3 consecutive days, with each day consisting of 3 separate 3-hour time slots.

Social Media Listening and Digital Profiling Study of People With Headache and Migraine: Retrospective Infodemiology Study

Social Media Listening and Digital Profiling Study of People With Headache and Migraine: Retrospective Infodemiology Study

As headache disorders impact the community, opportunities to analyze real-world data are likely to enrich our understanding of these disorders and may aid in symptom management. Despite the advances in treatments, the management of headache disorder is often suboptimal, generally due to misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis of the disease. Lack of training in diagnosing and managing headache disorders is also an important reason for inadequate headache health care [18,19].
