Early Prediction of Cardiac Arrest in the Intensive Care Unit Using Explainable Machine Learning: Retrospective Study

Kwon et al [17] proposed a deep learning–based early warning system that utilizes a recurrent neural network (RNN) to assess risk scores from input vectors measured over an 8-hour period. Their system, based on vital signs extracted from a retrospective multicenter cohort data set, resulted in AUROC and AUPRC values of 0.85 and 0.04, respectively.
