Interestingly, most caregivers identified in the Renner et al [26] study were women, who have been found to seek emotional support in online health communities more often than men [26,27].
This study design has several strengths. A large sample size collected over a 6-year period was analyzed. The results include data from a variety of social media sources and could provide another dimension to research on treatment perceptions.
