As discussed in the study by Müthing et al [3], the use of advertisement and tracking services in medical apps can pose as a challenge. These services offer app developers insight into the usage of their app. But the data are also collected by these services for further monetization and data mining [73]. As medical (patient) data are protected under special jurisdiction and should be protected for ethical reasons, the use of any third-party services must be met with scrutiny.
