Power analyses were focused on the ability to detect a medium effect size (Cohen d=0.50) at postcondition in the context of a 2-level random coefficients HLM. Given that the primary contrast of interest would be that between CBI and the other study conditions, calculations were focused on detecting significant differences between two active conditions. Where study parameters in this 2-level model were not yet known, we used standard values and varied parameters to approximate an effective sample size.

Cohen d effect sizes for all effects irrespective of statistical significance are reported and interpreted as small (d≥0.3), medium (d≥0.5), and large (d≥0.8) [33]. Odds ratios and 95% CIs are presented for logistic regression results.
