The Twitter data used for this study were obtained from a paper by Vydiswaran et al [29]. The data were collected via the Twitter API, user timelines, and the Decahose stream, which is a 10% random sample of the real-time Twitter stream. First, the Twitter API and user timelines were used to collect all tweets from users near the Detroit metropolitan area. Then, the data set was expanded through the Decahose stream. In total, the data set contained 28.8 million tweets.
