Continuous Glucose Monitoring Among Patients With Type 1 Diabetes in Rwanda (CAPT1D) Phase I: Prospective Observational Feasibility Study

Continuous Glucose Monitoring Among Patients With Type 1 Diabetes in Rwanda (CAPT1D) Phase I: Prospective Observational Feasibility Study

In both cases, glucose monitoring is necessary [3] to prevent or treat acute (hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and diabetic ketoacidosis [DKA]) or chronic (microvacular and macrovascular) complications, and more frequent monitoring has been shown to have better diabetes outcomes [4].

Satisfactory Evaluation of Call Service Using AI After Ureteral Stent Insertion: Randomized Controlled Trial

Satisfactory Evaluation of Call Service Using AI After Ureteral Stent Insertion: Randomized Controlled Trial

The use of AI has infrequently been used in order to provide patients with data, before a ureteric stent intervention, regarding the possible complications that may arise and whether they would benefit from prompt adjunctive therapy.

Profile and Determinants for Complications of Imported Malaria in 5 Chinese Provinces From 2014 to 2021: Retrospective Analysis

Profile and Determinants for Complications of Imported Malaria in 5 Chinese Provinces From 2014 to 2021: Retrospective Analysis

We included only cases with singular Plasmodium infections and well-documented complications; mixed infections were excluded from the analysis. The collected information included general demographic characteristics, source of infection, the reason for travel, date of onset, first visit unit and time, first visit results, laboratory diagnosis results, types of complications, treatment drugs, and others.

A Patient Similarity Network (CHDmap) to Predict Outcomes After Congenital Heart Surgery: Development and Validation Study

A Patient Similarity Network (CHDmap) to Predict Outcomes After Congenital Heart Surgery: Development and Validation Study

Postoperative complications in congenital heart surgery have been inconsistently reported but have important contributions to mortality, hospital stay, cost, and quality of life [7-9]. Heart centers with the best outcomes might not report fewer complications but rather have systems in place to recognize and correct complications before deleterious outcomes ensue [8].

Hyaluronidase for Dermal Filler Complications: Review of Applications and Dosage Recommendations

Hyaluronidase for Dermal Filler Complications: Review of Applications and Dosage Recommendations

It is generally believed that permanent fillers are nonbiodegradable and nonreversible, and therefore, complications with the inflammatory process are more likely to occur with permanent fillers. Dermal fillers have gained popularity over the past 2 decades despite the large spectrum of complications associated with their use, including nodule formation, misplacement, migration, infection, and vascular occlusion [1-3].

Impact of Mobile Apps in Conjunction With Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy on Patients' Complications, Quality of Life, and Health-Related Self-Care Behaviors: Randomized Clinical Trial

They particularly fear the occurrence of complications. Farrag et al [12] also noted that handling the complexities of enteral feeding techniques requires ongoing technical guidance from someone to explain the daily care of PEG and how to avoid complications, as well as to observe signs of complications and promptly report them to health care personnel for appropriate management.

Clinicians’ Perceptions of an Artificial Intelligence–Based Blood Utilization Calculator: Qualitative Exploratory Study

Clinicians’ Perceptions of an Artificial Intelligence–Based Blood Utilization Calculator: Qualitative Exploratory Study

In other words, clinicians typically trusted the BUC when its recommendations matched their assessments or when a patient had a very standard clinical status, no health complications, or no notable health history. Clinicians also acknowledged that they bypassed BUC recommendations when the recommendations did not match their judgments. Nevertheless, in a few instances, clinicians considered BUC recommendations and changed their judgments after revisiting the patient’s health status.

Definition and Classification of Postoperative Complications After Cardiac Surgery: Pilot Delphi Study

Definition and Classification of Postoperative Complications After Cardiac Surgery: Pilot Delphi Study

Although efforts are made to preempt postoperative complications in cardiac surgery using various technologies [9-11], the lack of a consensual and standard definition and classification of postoperative complications in cardiac surgery, however, acts as an important barrier to developing adequate monitoring and reporting systems for cardiac surgery complications [12].

Understanding Racial Disparities in COVID-19–Related Complications: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Understanding Racial Disparities in COVID-19–Related Complications: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Unpacking the role of structural racism (through the multilevel processes that interact with one another to generate and reinforce disparities faced by racialized communities) on the risk of COVID-19 complications, including severe COVID-19 infections requiring hospitalization and “long COVID-19,” remains crucial to inform pandemic responses among Black communities.
