Optimizing the Measurement of Information on the Context of Alcohol Consumption Within the Drink Less App Among People Drinking at Increasing and Higher Risk Levels: Mixed-Methods Usability Study

Optimizing the Measurement of Information on the Context of Alcohol Consumption Within the Drink Less App Among People Drinking at Increasing and Higher Risk Levels: Mixed-Methods Usability Study

The pre-existing drinking diary in the Drink Less app does not record any information about the context of users’ drinking occasions. We developed 2 potential methods to measure self-reported drinking contexts within the diary. First, users could record multiple separate characteristics of drinking occasions (ie, location, company, and motivation) in the drinking diary by selecting tags when recording each drinking occasion (tags).

Intensive Longitudinal Methods Among Adults With Breast or Lung Cancer: Scoping Review

Keywords included terms related to the population (eg, cancer) and methodology (eg, ecological momentary assessment and daily diary). The search strategy was validated in Pub Med and translated to other databases. The full search strategy is provided in Multimedia Appendix 1. Figure 1 provides an overview of the selection procedure. Most duplicates were automatically detected and removed using End Note (version 20; Clarivate) [19]. Screening followed a 2-step process.

A Novel System for the Device-Based Measurement of Physical Activity, Sedentary Behavior, and Sleep (Motus): Usability Evaluation

In this example, ideas for the layout of the diary app screens (from left to right) for the entry of work and sleep hours. Examples of the initial digital mock-ups created in Microsoft Power Point by the project team during the development of the smartphone app in phase 1. From left to right, different ideas are presented for the layout of the diary app screens for the entry of work and sleep hours.

A Bespoke Electronic Health Journal for Monitoring Response to Botulinum Toxin in Treatment of Cervical Dystonia: Open-Label Observational Study of User Experience

At the time of writing, another electronic health diary (My Dystonia) is available [12]. This app enables patients to record symptoms over time and schedule medical appointments. It is designed for multiple types of dystonia rather than specifically for CD (unlike Dystonia Diary) and does not appear to track treatment dates and treatment effectiveness. To date, there do not appear to be any publications describing the use of the My Dystonia app or any other app designed specifically for patients with CD.

Condomless Anal Sex Associated With Heterogeneous Profiles Of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Use and Sexual Activities Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: A Latent Class Analysis Using Sex Diary Data on a Mobile App

Condomless Anal Sex Associated With Heterogeneous Profiles Of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Use and Sexual Activities Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: A Latent Class Analysis Using Sex Diary Data on a Mobile App

There has been no perfect measurement for condom and Pr EP use until now, but a mobile app that allows users to log their Pr EP use and sex diary at any time or place may be more suitable for monitoring HIV risk in MSM. Sex diaries have been used to track sexual encounters, reduce risky sexual behavior [19-21], and facilitate Pr EP uptake [19].

Investigating the Use of Electronic Well-being Diaries Completed Within a Psychoeducation Program for University Students: Longitudinal Text Analysis Study

Investigating the Use of Electronic Well-being Diaries Completed Within a Psychoeducation Program for University Students: Longitudinal Text Analysis Study

The availability and progression of technology has been critical in the ongoing advancement of diary-based research. In the field of diary analysis, researchers have used technology to identify prospective participants on the web [23], automatically prompt participants with poor compliance to diary completion tasks [24], and automatically monitor the time of day when respondents choose to complete their diaries [25].

Rams Have Heart, a Mobile App Tracking Activity and Fruit and Vegetable Consumption to Support the Cardiovascular Health of College Students: Development and Usability Study

Diary trend charts provided feedback to help students meet personal goals throughout the study intervention (Figure 3). A concise single screen presented a 3-week history of diary entries, allowing users to reflect on their eating and physical activity behaviors. This approach also aimed to support behavior change and encourage compliance with a daily diary entry. During the first year of our study, participants frequently did not provide diary data every day.
