Smartphone-Based Intervention Targeting Norms and Risk Perception Among University Students with Unhealthy Alcohol Use: Secondary Mediation Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

Smartphone-Based Intervention Targeting Norms and Risk Perception Among University Students with Unhealthy Alcohol Use: Secondary Mediation Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

Thus, our secondary hypothesis was that mediation through norms perception would primarily occur among individuals who overestimate other people’s drinking (ie, moderated mediation). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to assess moderated mediation in such a setting. This manuscript adheres to the recommendations outlined in A Guideline for Reporting Mediation Analyses (AGRe MA) [46].

Using Digital Art and Attachment Priming in a Web-Based Serious Game to Reduce Pain and Social Disconnection in Individuals With Chronic Pain and Loneliness: Randomized Controlled Trial

Using Digital Art and Attachment Priming in a Web-Based Serious Game to Reduce Pain and Social Disconnection in Individuals With Chronic Pain and Loneliness: Randomized Controlled Trial

The data were also analyzed with the Process Macro Model 59 for multicategorical moderated mediation tests to account for the effect of a single moderator on all 3 mediation pathways [52]. Six multicategorical moderated mediation models were constructed to assess the main and interaction effects of the artwork and priming manipulations. The hanging control condition was set as the reference group. Postexperiment pain scores and social disconnection scores were the outcome variables.

Association Between Internet Gaming Disorder and Suicidal Ideation Mediated by Psychosocial Resources and Psychosocial Problems Among Adolescent Internet Gamers in China: Cross-Sectional Study

Association Between Internet Gaming Disorder and Suicidal Ideation Mediated by Psychosocial Resources and Psychosocial Problems Among Adolescent Internet Gamers in China: Cross-Sectional Study

In addition, there is further support for the above-proposed mediation. First, pathological internet use (including IGD) has been postulated to cause deficient face-to-face social interactions that would lead to social isolation [20,21]. Longitudinal studies have also reported that adolescent IGD predicted social anxiety and loneliness [22,23].

The Association Between Personality Traits and Health-Related Quality of Life and the Mediating Role of Smoking: Nationwide Cross-Sectional Study

The Association Between Personality Traits and Health-Related Quality of Life and the Mediating Role of Smoking: Nationwide Cross-Sectional Study

The Sobel-Goodman mediation test was used to examine the impact of smoking on Big Five personality traits and HRQOL while taking into account all covariates [43]. Statistical significance was determined using 2-sided P values, with α The sample analyzed in this study consisted of 21,916 cases. There was an equal distribution of sexes, with 10,958 (50%) participants identifying as male and 10,958 (50%) identifying as female.

Exploring Relations Between Unique Patient Characteristics and Virtual Reality Immersion Level on Anxiety and Pain in Patients Undergoing Venipuncture: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Control Trial

Exploring Relations Between Unique Patient Characteristics and Virtual Reality Immersion Level on Anxiety and Pain in Patients Undergoing Venipuncture: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Control Trial

Conditional process analysis was used for the moderation and mediation analyses [45]. Separate models were run for the proposed mediation and moderation effects of child characteristics (age, gender, procedure location, and anxiety sensitivity) and level of immersion on the outcomes of postprocedural anxiety VAS and pain FPS-R. All models were controlled for preprocedural pain or anxiety.

Predicting COVID-19 Vaccination Uptake Using a Small and Interpretable Set of Judgment and Demographic Variables: Cross-Sectional Cognitive Science Study

Predicting COVID-19 Vaccination Uptake Using a Small and Interpretable Set of Judgment and Demographic Variables: Cross-Sectional Cognitive Science Study

For primary mediations, age significantly mediated the statistical relationship between 11 judgment variables and vaccine uptake (α For the secondary mediation analyses, 5 judgment variables mediated the statistical relationship between age and vaccine uptake; these variables overlapped with the 11 findings of the primary mediation analyses.

The Mediating Role of General and Cognitive Stress on the Effect of an App-Based Intervention on Productivity Measures in Workers: Randomized Controlled Trial

The Mediating Role of General and Cognitive Stress on the Effect of an App-Based Intervention on Productivity Measures in Workers: Randomized Controlled Trial

Data were analyzed using the statistical programming language R [43] in combination with the nlme package [44] and the mediate package for the mediation analyses [45]. As both the mediator and the outcome model were linear models, the results obtained by the function are analogous to the usual linear structural equation method described by Baron and Kenny [45,46].

Vaccination Intention and Behavior of the General Public in China: Cross-sectional Survey and Moderated Mediation Model Analysis

Vaccination Intention and Behavior of the General Public in China: Cross-sectional Survey and Moderated Mediation Model Analysis

The moderated mediation model provides evidence for the practical application of theory of planned behavior in vaccination behavior. Future interventions for people who are unwilling to be vaccinated or subjectively postpone vaccination should not only focus on changing their negative attitudes toward the vaccine but should also pay attention to the ideas of their families and close friends about vaccination and intervention. This will facilitate positive intentions to get vaccinated.

The Role of Emotion Regulation and Loss-Related Coping Self-efficacy in an Internet Intervention for Grief: Mediation Analysis

The Role of Emotion Regulation and Loss-Related Coping Self-efficacy in an Internet Intervention for Grief: Mediation Analysis

One of the participants was excluded because of being a multivariate outlier, which affected the mediation analyses. Therefore, the analysis sample comprised 100 German-speaking participants who lost their spouse through bereavement (20/100, 20%), separation, or divorce (80/100, 80%) and who were randomly allocated to the intervention group or the waitlist control group. The waitlist control group received access to the treatment after 12 weeks.
