Using the Preparation Phase of the Multiphase Optimization Strategy to Design an Antiextremism Program in Bahrain: Formative and Pilot Research

The Kingdom of Bahrain is in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which experienced over 35% of all terrorist attacks from 2010 to 2020 [1]. At the political level, Bahrain has used legislation, law enforcement, and international and regional cooperation to counter and prevent extremism (eg, addressing financing of terrorism and violent extremism).

Smartphone Usage Among Doctors in the Clinical Setting in Two Culturally Distinct Countries: Cross-sectional Comparative Study

In this study, we aimed to identify the usage of smartphones and medical apps by doctors in the clinical setting in 2 culturally distinct countries: King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), Kingdom of Bahrain and Queen Mary Hospital (QMH), Hong Kong. We attempted to understand how the socioeconomic status and culture of the 2 countries impacts the views of health professionals towards smartphones and their use and acceptance in the clinical setting.

For example, Oman had 33.3 new infections per 100,000 population while Bahrain had 12.1, Libya had 14, and Lebanon had 14.6. In order of most to least number of cumulative deaths since January 2020, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia had 30,375, 10,254, 6120, and 5185, respectively.
